Monaro Regional Housing Forum Print E-mail

The Monaro Regional Housing Forum represents a wide cross section of organisations including members from housing and accommodation groups, tenancy, community organisations, Councils’ as partners, government agencies, clients with complex needs group and young people’s group.
 
The purpose of the Monaro Regional Housing Forum is to develop and advocate strategies to provide the best housing outcomes for the community.  These partnerships have been further sustained by the support of Cooma Monaro Shire Council. 

The Monaro Regional Housing Forum meets on a quarterly basis and is working collaboratively to find effective and appropriate solutions to housing and accommodation problems across the Monaro.


Meeting Frequency and Venue

Monaro Regional Housing Forum - held quarterly on the fourth Wednesday of the month. 

 

Venue

Venue is the Committee Room, Cooma Monaro Shire Council, 81 Commissioner Street, Cooma.

Terms of Reference


1.    Purpose:
The Monaro Regional Housing Forum incorporating the Cooma Monaro, Bombala and Snowy River Shires,
aim to develop and advocate strategies to provide the best housing outcomes for the community.
 
2.    Objectives:
2.1       Develop and implement consultation strategies with providers (housing, real estates, community services, councils etc)
and the broader community to identify housing issues and needs.
 
2.2       Develop, implement and support progressive strategies related to housing including but not exclusively for:
(a)        efficient use of available resources
(b)        service/client accessibility
(c)        information dissemination about available services
(d)        safe, secure and affordable housing
 
2.3       To advocate for housing reform as indicated by objectives 2.1 and 2.2
